Help for the Parent-Child Relationship

Beginning in late childhood, young people tend to drift away from parents toward peers for support, validation, and reassurance. As a result of this distancing, parents can sometimes feel not needed, left out of the loop, and worried. In troubled parent-child relationships with frequent conflict, this distancing can feel even greater, giving some parents the feeling that they have lost total control.

I facilitate conversations with you and your child to assist in improving communication, developing understanding of each other's perspectives, and learning to empathize with each other.  Bridging the distance and rebuilding the relationship bond that once existed can strengthen the relationship. With a strengthened relationship, conflict is likely to lessen and mental health issues are likely to improve.
